Bufera sulle nomination agli MTV Video Music Awards 2017, Lady Gaga boicottata dagli organizzatori?

La lista delle nomination agli MTV Video Music Awards 2017 ha scatenato una bufera sui social network: tanti i grandi e illustri assenti nella lista dei candidati per i premi dedicati ai migliori video dell’ultimo anno, da Lady Gaga a Britney Spears passando per Nicki Minaj.

Scelte che hanno sorpreso molti, per lo più i fan della Germanotta che hanno protestato vivacemente sui social gridando al boicottaggio da parte di MTV.

Tornata sul mercato con l’album Joanne, il meno pop ma il più personale e coraggioso per la Mother Monster, Lady Gaga è stata snobbata dagli organizzatori dei Video Music Awards 2017, nonostante abbia pubblicato tre clip di successo per i singoli Perfect Illusion, Million Reasons e John Wayne: nessuno di questi video è stato selezionato in concorso per le diverse categorie di premio.

Quella di Gaga, che ai VMA ha regalato alcune delle sue performance più iconiche, è senza dubbio l’assenza più vistosa ma non è l’unica: l’organizzazione della kermesse, che tiene conto delle clip rilasciate fino al 31 maggio precedente, ha ignorato anche video da record di visualizzazioni come No Frauds e Regret In Your Tears di Nicki Minaj, i tormentoni latini Despacito di Luis Fonsi e Daddy Yankee e Chantaje di Shakira o Slumber Party di Britney Spears con Tinashe. La Minaj è candidata solo col duetto Side to Side con Ariana Grande.
