Il futuro popolato da androidi dalle sembianze umane è già realtà nel video di 365 di Katy Perry e Zedd: la collaborazione tra la popstar californiana e il celebre dj, arrivata online giovedì 14 febbraio, celebra a suo modo la festa di San Valentino, ponendosi qualche quesito sull’amore e i rapporti umani nell’era tecnologicamente più avanzata della nostra storia.
Ambientato in un avveniristico centro di ricerca sull’intelligenza artificiale e la robotica di Ginevra, in Svizzera, il video inizia con un test su un essere umano chiamato a definire cosa siano amore ed ossessione, per poi mostrare una Katy Perry in versione androide programmata per un esperimento sui rapporti tra robot ed esseri umani: è possibile programmare l’amore tra due entità di natura diversa?
Il video, tra ironia e fantascienza, finisce per ipotizzare come alla fine – tra l’umano e l’androide – sia il robot quello a provare sentimenti, ad affezionarsi alla persona che ha al suo fianco e a non volersene separare: l’intelligenza artificiale renderà le macchine capace di slanci emotivi più grandi di noi umani?
Il brano è il primo singolo di Katy Perry dal 2017 dopo l’era Witness, sfortunata dal punto di vista delle vendite (un vero flop in classifica rispetto al precedente best seller mondiale Prism), in attesa del nuovo album di inediti che non ha ancora un titolo né una data di uscita. Viste le difficoltà incontrate dall’ultimo album, accolto tiepidamente dalla critica quanto dal pubblico, la Perry ha fatto sapere che avrebbe preso tutto il tempo necessario a lavorare con calma al prossimo disco. Il featuring con Zedd certamente non è destinato a finire nella tracklist del successore di Witness, visto che il singolo è da attribuire principalmente al dj.
