La collaborazione tra DJ Khaled e Rihanna con la partecipazione di Bryson Tiller era tra le più attese tra le tante previste nel nuovo album del disc jockey e produttore discografico statunitense.
Il nuovo singolo Wild Thoughts, accompagnato da relativo videoclip ufficiale girato a Miami, è apparso in rete per il download venerdì 16 giugno: il brano, che sarà contenuto nella tracklist dell’album Grateful in uscita questo mese, contiene un campionamento della hit Maria Maria di Santana.
La produzione di Wild Thoughts è firmata da DJ Khaled e PartyNextDoor. L’album Grateful uscirà il 23 giugno, con aspettative altissime: Khaled vuole raggiungere almeno quota cinque singoli alla numero uno della classifica degli Stati Uniti, in cui vanta al momento il solo primato di I’m the One, brano inciso con Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne e Quavo. Al momento solo Katy Perry e Michael Jackson sono riusciti a piazzare cinque canzoni tratti dallo stesso album in cima alla classifica dei singoli americana, la prima con Teenage Dream e il secondo con Bad. DJ Khaled vuole raggiungere o infrangere quel record, come ha raccontato in un’intervista a Radio 1 Beats Apple Music: “Ho detto alla mia squadra che avrei messo da quattro a sette canzoni di fila in cima alle classifiche, perché ho i numeri giusti per farlo“.
Il disco, in potenza, è un coacervo di hit, visto che oltre al duetto di DJ Khaled e Rihanna contiene collaborazioni anche con Holdings Knowles, Nicki Minaj, Alicia Keys, Drake, Jay-Z. Ecco la cover del disco, insieme a video, testo e traduzione di Wild Thoughts.
