Red Hill Mining Town degli U2 segna il ritorno della band irlandese in radio, a qualche giorno dalla partenza del tour da Vancouver. La tournée celebra i primi 30 anni dal 5° album del gruppo, The Joshua Tree, che uscirà il 2 giugno in una versione celebrativa. Già iniziati i festeggiamenti, con il singolo che sarà in rotazione radiofonica dal 19 maggio prossimo.
11 le tracce previste nel disco celebrativo The Joshua Tree – 30 years, alle quali vanno ad aggiungersi alcune registrazioni live tra cui quella del 1987 al Madison Square Garden, oltre a rarità e lati B delle sessioni originali dei brani contenuti all’interno del disco. Inoltre, troveremo numerosi remix e un libro da 84 pagine composto dalle foto scattate da The Edge nel Mojave Desert.
The Joshua Tree ha compiuto 30 anni il 9 marzo scorso. Nella tracklist originale del disco sono contenuti brani del calibro di With or Without you e Where The Stress Have No Name, conquistando quel primo posto in classifica che li ha consacrati come star internazionali.
Composto da Brian Eno e Daniel Lanois, il disco ormai trentenne è stato registrato tra gli studi Windmill Lane e la Danesmoate House, divenuta poi dimora di Adam Clayton. Il video del brano Where The Streets Have No Name ha conquistato un Brit Awards e 2 Grammy, che aprirono il varco ai successivi 22 ottenuti in tutta la carriera.
