A 5 anni da Screamy bloody murder, i Sum 41 tornano sulle scene con l’annuncio di un nuovo album previsto per il prossimo 7 ottobre. Il nuovo capitolo della band canadese s’intitolerà 13 voices e potrebbe segnare una svolta epocale nel sound del gruppo, soprattutto dopo i recenti problemi personali di Deryck Whibley, che hanno permeato l’intera raccolta di canzoni che i Sum 41 rilasceranno in autunno.
“Sono davvero entusiasta di pubblicare un album dopo tutto quello che ho passato di recente. Sono dovuto cadere per risalire. E nulla ti fa sentire meglio che avere qualcosa che ti piace e lottare per quello. Posso onestamente dire che “13 voices” mi ha salvato la vita e non vedo l’ora di condividerlo con tutti voi”
Dopo 9 anni di assenza, la band potrà contare sul ritorno dello storico chitarrista Ralph Baksh. Oltre al gradito annuncio di un nuovo album, i Sum 41 sono balzati agli onori delle cronache per il video del nuovo singolo promozionale Fake my own death. Nel videoclip appena rilasciato non manca nulla: dal generoso lato b di Kim Kardashian ai personaggi di Game of Thrones, passando per Donald Trump. Nel video si rappresenta una città immersa nel caso più totale, sempre intenta a portare aventi i suoi affari nonostante il suo business senza curarsi del contorno. Segue il testo del nuovo singolo:
