Si è spento Glenn Frey: l’addio degli Eagles sulle note di It’s Your World Now (audio e testo)

Si è spento Glenn Frey, il chitarrista e fondatore della band degli Eagles.
A dare l’annuncio della scua scomparsa, il sito ufficiale del gruppo attraverso un messaggio condiviso successivamente su profili social.

“Con tristezza annunciamo la morte del nostro compagno e fondatore degli Eagles, Glenn Frey, a New York City il 18 gennaio 2016”, si legge.

Glenn Frey aveva 67 anni e nelle ultime settimane di vita ha combattuto una intensa battaglia contro le complicazioni da artrite remautoide, colite ulcerosa acuta e polmonite.

La famiglia Frey ringrazia tutti coloro che hanno aiutato Glenn nella sua lotta contro la malattia e tutti coloro che hanno pregato per lui e sperato che si rimettese.

“Le parole non potranno mai descrivere la nostra sofferenza e neanche il nostro amore e il rispetto per tutto ciò che ci ha dato, alla famiglia, alla musica e ai milioni di fan di tutto il mondo”.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our comrade, Eagles founder, Glenn Frey, in New York City on Monday, January 18th, 2016.
Glenn fought a courageous battle for the past several weeks but, sadly, succumbed to complications from Rheumatoid Arthritis, Acute Ulcerative Colitis and Pneumonia.
The Frey family would like to thank everyone who joined Glenn to fight this fight and hoped and prayed for his recovery.
Words can neither describe our sorrow, nor our love and respect for all that he has given to us, his family, the music community, millions of fans worldwide”.

Gli Eagles lo salutano sulle note della canzone It’s Your World Now, scritta da Frey e Jack Tempchin il cui significato è legato alla certezza di essere parte di qualcosa di buono, nella consapevolezza di essersi lasciati qualcos’altro di altrettanto buono alle spalle.

Glenn Frey fondò gli Eagles nel 1971. La prima hit mondiale è stata Hotel California, canzone estratta dall’album omonimo del 1976.
