Star della musica, dello sport e del cinema si sono riunite presso il Microsoft Theater di Los Angeles domenica 28 giugno per il gala dei BET Awards 2015: regina della serata Beyoncé, con le sue tre vittorie conquistate in importanti categorie dei premi, ma a farsi notare sono state anche altre dive come Rihanna e Nicki Minaj.
Chris Brown e Nicki Minaj sono stati i leader delle nomination di quest’edizione con 6 candidature ciascuno, tra cui quella per Best artist per i loro rispettivi generi.
Il primo ha portato a casa la vittoria nelle sezioni Best Male R&B/Pop Artist e Cricket Wireless’ FANdemonium Award, la seconda nella sezione Best Female Hip-Hop Artist. Entrambi, poi, hanno vinto il Coca-Cola Viewers’ Choice Award per il featuring nel brano Only.
La coppia si è anche esibita dal vivo con Meek in All Eyes On You, mentre Alicia Keys e The Weeknd hanno cantato The Hills e Earned It. Ecco i video.

La sezione Best Female R&B/Pop Artist aveva tra le candidate pezzi grossi con Beyoncé, Ciara,Rihanna, Janelle Monáe, Jhené Aiko e K. Michelle. La vittoria è andata senza troppa sorpresa a Beyoncé, ma certamente Rihanna si è distinta a Los Angeles per non aver calcato il red carpet dei premi. Così come Janet Jackson, che è entrata attraverso un’altro ingresso, anche Rihanna ha saltato il tappeto rosso: una volta in platea però, accanto a Floyd Mayweather Jr., tutti i flash sono stati comunque per lei.
Dal canto suo, grande assente della serata, Beyoncé ha raggiunto un altro personale record: vincendo nelle sezioni Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, Video of the Year e Video Director of the Year Beyoncé è ora l’artista più premiata nella storia dei BET Awards con 19 premi.
