Ancora una volta è Netflix che gongola alla vista della lista dei vincitori dei People’s Choice Awards 2019. Tra icone di stile (come Jennifer Aniston) e personaggi pop (come Robert Downey Jr), la cerimonia andata in scena qualche ora fa a Barker Hangar, Santa Monica in California, ha messo insieme tutto quello che la gente ama e che premia votando. Questo significa che, spesso a discapito della qualità, alcune serie vincano su altre e che a secco rimangano serie come Il Trono di Spade, la cui ultima stagione non ha fatto impazzire il suo pubblico, o piccoli capolavori come Big Little Lies. La 45a edizione dei People’s Choice Awards è stata trasmessa domenica su E! e ha permesso ai fan di votare i propri spettacoli preferiti e le star dell’anno scorso.
La cerimonia di quest’anno comprendeva 15 categorie dedicate alla televisione e in otto di queste era presente Il Trono di Spade, seguito poi dalle “popolari” Riverdale e Stranger Things con sette nomination ciascuna. Alla fine sembra che proprio la serie cult Netflix l’abbia spuntata con la sua ottima terza stagione disponibile sulla piattaforma dallo scorso 4 luglio e che già ha segnato milioni di visualizzazioni. Nei giorni scorsi è arrivato l’annuncio ufficiale del rinnovo per una quarta stagione, e forse ultima, che dovrebbe prendere vita ad inizio 2020 per andare in onda, molto probabilmente, nell’autunno del prossimo anno.
