I rumor e le indiscrezioni avevano fondamento: Ed Sheeran duetta con Taylor Swift in una nuova versione del singolo The Joker And The Queen, brano contenuto nell’ultimo album Equals (2021) del cantautore britannico. L’annuncio è arrivato dallo stesso Sheeran in occasione dei BRIT Awards che si sono tenuti ieri sera, martedì 8 febbraio, in un’intervista a LadBible. Questa mattina sui canali social dell’artista di Halifax è arrivata la conferma.
Nel corso dei BRIT Awards Ed Sheeran è stato premiato per la categoria Songwriter Of The Year dall’attore Brian Cox, e sul palco dell’evento si è esibito insieme ai Bring Me The Horizon con il singolo Bad Habits.
Venerdì 11 febbraio uscirà una nuova versione di The Joker And The Queen in cui Ed Sheeran duetta con Taylor Swift. Per i due artisti non è la prima collaborazione. Ed Sheeran e Taylor Swift hanno già collaborato nella traccia Everything Has Changed dell’album Red (Taylor’s Version) (2021) e anche nel singolo End Game.
Tra i due artisti c’è una sincera amicizia. L’anno scorso, per esempio, Ed Sheeran ha raccontato che una volta aveva invitato la collega popstar al The Station, il suo pub di Framlingham, nel Suffolk, semplicemente per bere un drink. Con grande sorpresa, nessuno tra i presenti si era accorto di lei.
Il nuovo duetto tra Ed Sheeran e Taylor Swift era rumoreggiato da tempo, specialmente dai fan della cantautrice, ma non esistevano conferme. “Lo annunceremo tra un’ora”, ha detto dunque il cantautore ieri sera a LadBible dal backstage dei BRIT Awards. La nuova versione di The Joker And The Queen è già disponibile in pre-order e pre-save. “Lo sapevamo!”, scrivono i fan nei commenti.
Per il momento nessun commento da Taylor Swift, che Ed Sheeran dal suo profilo chiama affettuosamente “amica”.
