Giornata estremamente laboriosa ieri per gli ASUS ZenFone 3, che anche in Italia hanno accolto l’aggiornamento Nougat con particolare solerzia per quel che riguarda i modelli ZE520KL e ZE552KL (versione software 14.2015.1701.8). L’azienda taiwanese ha fatto sapere che, subito dopo l’upgrade, lo storage potrebbe leggermente ridursi (prima di effettuarlo resta raccomandato tenere a disposizione almeno 1.5 GB di spazio libero).
Siamo qui oggi per darvi qualche ragguaglio su quelli che sembrano essere i primi feedback emersi da coloro che hanno già provveduto ad installare l’aggiornamento Nougat a bordo del proprio ASUS ZenFone 3. Nel complesso, anche se è comunque troppo presto per esprimersi, la release pare ben comportarsi.
Balza subito agli occhi la nuova UI, svecchiata a dovere, così come molto apprezzati sono il sistema di notifiche ed il multiwindow. Anche il menù impostazioni appare più leggero, ed anche tutto il sistema sembra rispondere in modo più fluido e reattivo (magari per effetto delle nuove animazioni).
Bene l’apertura delle applicazioni, adesso più veloce; in aumento anche il livello del segnale 4G. Per quanto riguarda la multimedialità, si attesta un miglioramento della messa a fuoco nei video, con l’aggiornamento Nougat praticamente fulminea, e pare essere stata ottimizzata anche la resa dello stabilizzatore laser, di gran lunga più efficiente. La durata della batteria, argomento che tiene sempre dritti i capelli degli utenti, pare in leggero aumento, anche se non vorremmo si trattasse solo di un effetto placebo (per questo aspetto bisognerà attendere qualche giorno in più per potersi pronunciare con una certa cognizione di causa).
Tra le note stonate, davvero poche, il mancato funzionamento del LED di notifica, che di tanto in tanto tende a dare qualche problema (smanettando tra le impostazioni e giocando un po’ con i colori la situazione dovrebbe rientrare, è un classico dell’aggiornamento Nougat).

- Add bundled notifications switch. (Settings > Notification > Configure notifications). When multiple notifications for a single app are received, they can be bundled together into a single group. This group can be expanded to see the individual messages.

For user who upgrade from Android M to Android N, ASUS Share link will not work properly, please use the following alternative solutions: if you want to share files across LAN, you can use ASUS file manager’s Network place and wireless transfer function. If you want to use WiFi hotspot to share files to Windows 10 PC or Android devices, you can also use “ZenLink” which is compatible with Share Link. This app is expect to be on the google play in December.
- Remove redundant app shortcuts “Audio Wizard”, “Splendid”, “System update” and “Flashlight” from all apps menu.
- Remove ”PC Suite” (CD ROM)
- Remove “Tap and hold to show menu” form Settings > ASUS customized settings > Touch key setting. “Tap and hold to activate Multi-window ” in Touch key setting.
- Quick Settings supports multiple pages , user can swipe left to right to see more quick settings if using more than 12. User can enter edit screen by tap the edit button on top right corner to determine which settings enabling or disabling.
- Split “Ringtone & Notifications” volume bar into “Ringtone” and “Notification” volume bars on “Volume Panel” and “Sound & Vibration” Settings. Users can apply this feature by disabling “Sync volumes” from “Settings” -> “Sound & Vibration”
- For user who use Easy mode, a Launcher app menu will show on the screen after upgrading from Android M to Android N. Please select your default launcher again.
- For user who use Easy mode, the launcher will turn back to the default launcher after upgrade from Android M to Android N. Please turn it on from “Settings” > “Easy mode”.
- For user who upgrade from Android M to Android N and do Factory reset, the home workspace will be updated to the new layout.
